Factors contributing brand attitude in advergames: Entertainment and irritation

The main contribution of this article is to offer new insights into the antecedents of brand attitude in an advergaming context, focusing on entertainment and irritation as its main drivers. Also, the indirect effect of intrusiveness and congruence on brand attitude is analyzed. A structured questionnaire was completed by a sample of 100 undergraduate and postgraduate students after playing to a real casual advergame. The results show that entertainment is the main driver of brand attitude although irritation also exerts a significant effect on brand attitude due to perceived intrusiveness that, in turn, is determined by incongruence. Information on a company's employment webpage sends signals about the employer image the company intends to project to applicants. Nonetheless, we know little about the content of recruitment signals sent via company employment webpages. This study develops a method to measure companies’ projected employer image attributes based on their employment webpages. Specifically, we analyze companies’ projected employer image attributes by applying computer‐aided text analysis (CATA) to the employment webpages of 461 Fortune 500 companies (i.e., more than 11,100 individual pages). To what extent does Employer Branding (EB) express the real‐life company working environment or merely constitutes a well‐orchestrated organizational image?
